DEPORRE (which means "to lay to rest" in Italian) is inspired by ancient ground-level tombstones, a funerary sculpture that does not preserve the memory of any living being. A grave for no one, except for death itself. The beauty of a gesture; a tribute to life as it endures time, erodes, and dissolves in the rhythm of the present.

This work stems from a fascination with ancient tombstones embedded in church floors—sculptures carved in memory of the deceased, softened over centuries by the footsteps of those who have passed through these spaces.

A preserved yet forgotten memory, shaping new forms and meanings. It is an homage to this very memory, fleeting and ever-changing, imbued with both past and present.
